Amber and I picked up this wacky birdhouse at the Blue Ridge Arts Festival. I really like it. He’s a wacky little guy, creative, and I think perhaps I identify with his art. I wonder if he will scare off the very birds that he is supposed to support. I can’t tell you how many times I feel inside like the way he looks on the outside. Doing what I am supposed to be doing but, man, is it a crazy wild ride. Life has been that way lately. There are so many incredible things going on at Three Taverns from the daycare, to the theater, to missions, to leadership training. Sometimes Amber and I don’t have enough time not to pray. We are just along for the ride with God and trying not to get off the path. Have you ever felt this way while doing what you were designed to do? Like life was just rocking and rolling along so great that you found yourself holding on like crazy?
I don’t know what God designed you to do but when you find it and when you do it — life can really get busy, scary, and surprising in a great way. It is great to find out what you are designed, destined, and determined to do but when you do, here are a few tips from someone who has messed it up just a few times:
• Write it down. Revelation is an invitation. Make sure you know what the goal is!
• Test it. Talk to a trusted friend or two and see if they think you are nuts.
• Don’t stray and don’t get to far ahead. be willing to watch the journey unfold with God. Be patient he will continue to reveal.
• Stay determined. Don’t stop. Hang in there. New things take adjustment. The fun is in the new and the wild.
What do you do when you find out you’re a birdhouse and you never knew it? Let me know!
